Raees Director Rahul Dholakia Takes A Dig At Aamir Khan’s IPL Commentary, Later Deletes Post- Here’s What Happened

Filmmaker Rahul Dholakia appeared to criticize Aamir Khan’s IPL 2025 commentary stint, urging him to promote his film without giving sermons. The now-deleted tweet sparked speculation and debate among fans, especially given its timing during RCB’s historic win.

Bollywood filmmaker Rahul Dholakia, best known for Raees starring Shah Rukh Khan, appeared to take a jab at Aamir Khan’s live commentary during the IPL 2025 final between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) on June 3.

Aamir, who was present at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, participated in the Bhojpuri and Hindi broadcast segments to promote his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par.

Soon after Aamir’s appearance in the commentary box, Dholakia posted a cryptic tweet on X (formerly Twitter) that read, “Yaar picture ka promotion karo gyaan mat baato. I want KOHLI to win this year and Zinta to win next year! Both these passionate people deserve to win— for their sheer persistence.”

Although Dholakia did not mention Aamir by name, the timing of the tweet led netizens to believe it was aimed at him. The post quickly sparked debate on social media before being deleted a few hours later.

Deleted Tweet Adds Fuel to Speculation

Despite removing the tweet, screenshots of Rahul Dholakia’s post were widely circulated online. Social media users connected the dots between the post and Aamir’s promotional appearance during the RCB innings, further fueling the controversy.

In the closely fought final match, RCB defeated Shreyas Iyer’s PBKS by a narrow margin of six runs. The win marked a historic moment as Royal Challengers Bengaluru finally lifted their maiden IPL trophy after 18 years.

In a follow-up post, Dholakia congratulated RCB and Virat Kohli. He tweeted, “Lucky Number 18! Congrats RCB,” referring to the team’s long wait for the championship.

Meanwhile, Aamir Khan is gearing up for the release of Sitaare Zameen Par, scheduled to hit theatres on June 20, 2025.

The film also features Genelia D’Souza in a significant role and is an official adaptation of the Spanish movie Champions. Aamir is currently busy with nationwide promotions.
